Diversity in the Workplace

Diversity in the Workplace

At GWA, we are committed to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, fosters inclusion, and values every unique voice. We believe that when people feel valued, respected, and connected, they’re empowered to do their best work—driving innovation, collaboration, and success for our team members, customers, shareholders and the broader community.

We’re committed to:

  • Gender Equality: Promoting balance across all levels of the organisation.
  • o We are implementing many initiatives to support our efforts towards our goal of 40% women, 40% men and 20% unspecified and non-binary gender such as gender-inclusive selection processes, unconscious bias training, pay equity reviews and flexible parental leave arrangements. We report annually via the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) portal. Our most recent public submission can be found here Employer Data Explorer | WGEA Gender Equality Data.
  • Inclusivity & Belonging: Creating an environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute.
  • o We have three key employee-led committees that play the role of engagement ambassadors. Through our DE&I committee, Reconciliation Working Group (RWG) and our Culture Council, we partner to develop, inform and monitor the progress and impact of our inclusive practices. Recently we launched our multi-use rooms across our site that provide a safe, secure and private space for team members to access to meet various individual or personal needs such as breast feeding and praying.
  • Indigenous Engagement: Taking meaningful steps to build respectful relationships, foster cultural understanding, create economic opportunities and promote accountability through reporting.
  • o Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is our strategic framework that guides our commitment to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We launched Yarn Shelves across all sites which feature a range of cultural books intended to be shared to create conversation, build understanding and enhance appreciation of First Nation peoples.
